FE Race And Reunion Photos: A Celebration Of Everything FE Powered

FE Race And Reunion Photos: A Celebration Of Everything FE Powered

All things FE baby, that’s what the FE Race and Reunion is all about at Beaver Springs Dragway. Thanks to Joe Grippo we’ve got tons of photos from all over the event, so check out the latest gallery right here, and use the link below if you missed any of our other galleries.

(Words and Photos by Joe Grippo) The FE Ford engine has been obviously out of production for, what, 40 plus years? Yet there is a group the hardest of hardcore devotees who once a year gather in the hills of Central Pennsylvania at a quaint little dragstrip, to celebrate all variants of this famed FoMoCo mill. From 352’s to 390’s to the mighty Cobra Jets and Cammers, plus all the other displacements were in the house, at Beaver Springs Dragway.

The FE’s were smoking the rear tires and yanking the fronts skyward for like 3 days straight! Big mid-century 60’s muscle, Fairlane’s, Mustangs and trucks filled the pits and the show field right alongside a bunch of late model Fords with the venerable big block transplanted into them. It’s truly Nirvana for Ford fanatics, it is a sight to behold. A few Ford legends who made their bones with the FE Ford were in the house and holding court. Ohio George Montgomery, Al Joniec and John Vermeersch among others were telling stories and answering questions non-stop. The swap meet was robust with blocks, heads, intakes, cranks and everything else FE related just waiting to get scarfed up for the next build.

If you even remotely dig Fords and if you own an FE, you owe it to yourself to be on the Beaver property in 2022 for the 10th (TENTH!) annual FE Race and Reunion. You will not regret it, but don’t take our word for it, check out the galleries and see for yourself.

Motion Raceworks Rocky Mountain Race Week Daily Coverage: Day One Action From Thunder Valley

Motion Raceworks Rocky Mountain Race Week Daily Coverage: Day One Action From Thunder Valley

Rocky Mountain Race Week is in the books, and we were traveling the route with all these folks so we could bring you the FREE livestream that we had going all week long. It was a week full of fun, adventures, carnage, and more, but even if you were there you wouldn’t have been able to see it all. There is that much going on! But thanks to the folks at Motion Raceworks we’ve got more cool video coverage from the entire week and we’re going to share it all with you one day at a time. They were on-site with their parts merch trailer and were helping people out with great stuff all week long. This is the first video from Day One at Thunder Valley in Noble Oklahoma, which means everyone is racing and there is no on road carnage or anything yet. This is the day where everyone thinks everything is great and that they can win this whole thing. Spirits are high. At least until the racing gets going.

Why? Because some of these poor folks are going to tear their stuff up before they ever get to leave the first track. The good news is that they have all night to work on them because we don’t leave for the next track until the next morning, and the drive isn’t horrible from Thunder Valley to the Texas Motorplex in Ennis. Plus, there is the World’s Largest Summit Racing Equipment store on the way and it’s full of great parts to fix most anything.

Between Summit and the Motion Raceworks trailer full of parts, there was no shortage of new stuff going on hot rods Sunday night.

Here is the video description:

2020 AACA Fall Meet Coverage: Photos Of The Vintage Iron That Showed Up In Droves!

2020 AACA Fall Meet Coverage: Photos Of The Vintage Iron That Showed Up In Droves!

(Words and photos by Joe Grippo) – A few months ago, when the word came down that the annual massive gearhead gathering known as Hershey was shelved for 2020, the car hobby collectively sighed and said “…we saw that coming.” But then the Antique Automobile Club of America announced a special show in Gettysburg, Pa in early November, so we circled that weekend on the calendar and made our plans. When the date rolled around, mother nature cut us a break and we got a nearly cloudless, perfectly sunny warm November day. And when well over 400 antique, classic and muscle cars showed up it made for a glorious Saturday.  A huge shout out to the Gettysburg Region of the AACA for pulling the show together at the almost 11th hour.

I have a few galleries to share, so let’s start it off with the oldest stuff in attendance: the cars and trucks of the 20’s, 30’s and 40’s. Check the gallery for an abundance of Model A Fords, cool fat fendered era stuff, the cherriest of trucks and some jaw dropping Lincolns and Cadillacs. A few of my favorites were the huge by large, straight 8 powered Buick Woody, the greyish 1937 Lincoln V12 with the Brunn bodied coachwork and the dare I say cute, bright red, flat-bed, Chevy cab-over.  The ’37 Sudebaker Dictator and ’41 Willys coupes stopped us in our dead in our tracks as well. Tons of great stuff everywhere in the show areas.

More later.

Bonneville Speed Week Video: Record Setting Runs And Muscle Cars On The Salt During Speed Week 2020

Bonneville Speed Week Video: Record Setting Runs And Muscle Cars On The Salt During Speed Week 2020

What truly makes Bonneville Speed Week special is the variety of vehicles that you see hauling ass down the salt. Different body styles, different engine combos, and different visions are what Bonneville Speed Week is all about, and it is what people who come for the first time always comment on. There are so many classes, so many combos within those classes, and so much flexibility in how you build your perfect race car for Speed Week, that there is no way that any two are exactly the same. Streamliners, Lakesters, door cars, roadsters, and sports cars just scratch the surface as there are so many different classes, variations, and interpretations of each of these classifications. When you watch the two videos below, one that is all record runs from Bonneville Speed Week 2020, and the other that is nothing but Muscle Cars on the salt, you’ll get to see just how cool this place is and just how cool the racing is.

Watch and see what you think and tell us what vehicle in these videos is your favorite. Would you rather drive a streamliner down the salt? A lakester? That’s like a streamliner but with the wheels hanging out. Or a door car? Maybe a roadster?

Watch and tell us what you think.

Here’s Every Bonneville Speed Week Photo Gallery We’ve Got From 2020! Check Them All Out Here!

Bonneville Speed Week 2020 is in the books, with George Poteet and the Speed Demon team once again taking home the Hot Rod Trophy, which is impressive as hell considering the challenging conditions at Bonneville National Speedway this year. With this year’s strange climate of COVID and everything else, the number of cars and fans at Speed Week was definitely down, but that might have been a blessing for some as the number of cars going down the race track each day meant it probably stayed in better shape than it would have otherwise. And even though Speed Demon is full of the latest and greatest technology, including very effective traction control, you can’t go down a marginal track as fast as a good one. Period. Traction control doesn’t make you fast, it just helps refine the power a little in the tougher spots.

Don’t for a second think that all our coverage was of Speed Demon though, we’ve got jillions of photos of hot rods, customs, race cars, and more on the salt, and it doesn’t matter what you like you are going to find it in one of these cool photo galleries.

FREE LIVE STREAMING Drag Racing: The Xtreme Texas Nationals Featuring The Mid-West Drag Racing Series

Saturday: Racing scheduled for 6 P.M. Central!

No, your eyes didn’t deceive you, the name is accurate: the Summit Racing Equipment Mid-West Drag Racing Series, the former Mid-West Pro Mod Series, is throwing down big-time at Xtreme Raceway Park in Ferris, Texas and BangShift.com will be bringing you the action LIVE starting Friday afternoon! So, what’s with the name change? Well, it’s because more than just Pro Mods will be taking part! In addition to the howlers we’ve been showing you since day one, there is now a $20,000 to win Funny Car class that will battle it out for a hell of a pot. How many will be contesting for the cash? Hopefully more than a few…if there are more than 13 cars in the field, there’s money in the semi-finals and the quarters! X275 will also be on the grounds, running the event as a 2020 points race. Dragsters, Top Sportsman, Outlaw Big Tire (no time) and Junior Dragsers will be running as well.

BangShiftChad will be our man on the ground for the event, so tune in starting Friday evening for the noise from the south. Keith Haney and the crew are back in business, and business is GOOD!
